Favorite Quotes:

“ Kenly was a rare dual Talent, meaning that she had two distinct sets of abilities, Higher Reasoning and Telekinesis. It was extremely unusual for a dual Talent to be proficient in both areas and Kenly wasn’t an exception.”

“Whatever research Mac had planned for TI-912 was serious, vital to the Agency even.”

“Whenever I needed him, he was always there for me and while I wished more than anything right then that the situation was very different, I loved that Erik needed me for once.”

“”I like the intensity between us. If that means I take the good with the bad, well, that’s fine.””

“Half-truths and thinly veiled lies had become the norm and I was fed up. I craved the truth, the whole story, and I hoped that Anya could give that to me.”

“I wrapped my arms around his neck and he lifted me off the ground as we kissed. Warmth and caring flooded through me and I clung to him with more urgency. I didn’t want to let him go.””

My Review:

5/5 stars

I would like to first reference this look to an article regarding the term ‘book hangover’. The term ‘book hangover’ occurs when the reader finishes a story, usually fiction, and is unable to separate themselves from the story and or characters. The reader is essentially in a complete daze. This is exactly what I felt after reading Hunted (granted I pretty much this way after reading all of Sophie Davis’s books, but still).

In an attempt to forget everything since her time as a Hunter Pledge, Talia agrees to go with Director McDonough to Washington, D.C. to administer The Talent Aptitude Test to determine if a child exhibits any level of a Talent. In now being exposed to how the Aptitude test is actually administered, Talia is concerned about the efficacy of the tests and is second guessing what is being done to these children. In second guessing what she was told about these tests by the Director and TOXIC, she also begins to question if she has been told everything about the cause of her seizures.

With the help of Erik, she ends up getting help to learn more about the cause of her seizures, surprisingly, by someone from Erik’s past. As certain truths are revealed to Talia, her trust in anything and everyone begins to break down. However, her relationship with Erik, both physically and mentally being to grow, despite everything happening.

Certain events unfold in Hunted, where Talia must make difficult choices of letting go of parts of her past in order to save her future. (Yes, I am paraphrasing a tagline of a previous Sophie Davis book.) Throughout this book, as per usual with any Sophie Davis book, you will go through so many emotions and feeling everything that Talia is going through (remember book hangover?).

I would highly recommend starting the Talented Saga, or continuing to read the books in the Talented Saga.

Happy Reading!!
