I had the honor of being one of the bloggers that was included in the ARC hop for the book Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid.
I first heard of this author when I got the first 100 pages of Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid at BookCon 2014. I absolutely fell in LOVE with Let’s Get Lost so I was very excited for this opportunity.

Book Title: Never Always Sometimes
Author: Adi Alsaid
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Number of pages: 288
Genre: young adult, contemporary, romance
Release date: August 4th 2015
Goodreads Synopsis:
Never date your best friend. Always be original. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken.
Best friends Dave and Julia were determined to never be cliché high school kids. They even wrote their own Never List of everything they vowed they’d never, ever do in high school. Most of the rules have been easy to follow, like #5, never dye your hair a color of the rainbow, or #7, never hook up with a teacher.
But Dave has a secret: he’s broken rule #8, never pine silently after someone for the entirety of high school. It’s either that or break rule #10, never date your best friend. So when Julia impetuously suggests they do every Never on the list, Dave is happy to play along. He even dyes his hair an unfortunate shade of green. It starts as a joke, but then a funny thing happens: Dave and Julia discover that by skipping the clichés, they’ve actually been missing out on high school. And maybe even on love.
My Review:
I unfortunately, was not able to finish the book due to my hectic schedule, but from what I read, I really enjoyed it!
I enjoyed reading about the friendship between the main characters and reading about how Dave felt about Julia. Most stories I’ve read, it’s usually about about the girl pining over the boy, so it was very refreshing that it was different.
I thought it was clever and interesting about the theme of clichés Some books, it’s like okay, we get it. But this book made the clichés more interesting and enjoyable.
I apologize again that I couldn’t finish the book, but I am really looking forward to when the book comes out. And I of course recommend this to readers who love contemporary stories and stories of learning more about who you are and what you were meant to be.
